(from ἰκοσί, "twenty," and ἀνδρία, "a man or husband"); the name of the 12th clas in Linnaeus's sexual method, consisting of plants with hermaphrodite flowers, which are furnished with 20 or more stamens, that are inserted into the inner side of the calyx or petals. See BOTANY, p. 192.
