He learned the art of engraving from Peter Soutman, at the time that Snyderhoef studied under the same master; and his usual style of engraving bears some resemblance to that of his master's. One of his best prints is Diana, with her nymphs, rep-fing after the chaste; a middling-sized plate, lengthwise, from Rubens.
