MARSQUYVER, or MARSALQUIVER, a strong and ancient town of Africa, on the coast of Barbary, and in the province of Beni Arax, in the kingdom of Tremesen, with one of the best harbours in Africa. It was taken by the Spaniards in 1732. It is seated on a rock near a bay of the sea, in W. Long. o. 10. N. Lat. 35. 40.
