To chemical mixture belong the union of acids and alkalies, the amalgamation of metals, solution of gums, &c. and upon it depend many of the principal operations of *Chemistry*. **Mixture**, in *Pharmacy*, a medicine which differs from a julep in this respect, that it receives into its composition not only salts, extracts, and other substances dissoluble in water; but also earths, powders, and such substances as cannot be dissolved.
