in Sussex in England, five miles from Midhurst and the Sussex Downs, and 49 from London, is a large and handsome town, with 2664 inhabitants. It is adorned with several seats of gentlemen, particularly the magnificent seat of the Percies, earls of Petworth Northumberland, many of whom lie buried in a separate vault of its church. In the duke of Somerset's armory, in this place, there is a sword which, by circumstances, appears to have been the weapon of the famous Henry Hotspur, though it is less unwieldy than other ancient swords.
