in old law books, &c., those goods accruing to the church wherein a corpse is buried. In the Irish canons, lib. xix. cap. 6, it is ordered, that along with every body that is buried, there go his cow, horse, apparel, and the furniture of his bed; none of which may be disposed of otherwise than for the payment of debts, &c., as being familiars and domestics of the deceased.
