a kingdom of Asha, in the peninsula beyond the Ganges, and near the straits of Malacca. The king is tributary to Siam. The principal town is of the same name, and said to contain about 8000 inhabitants. It has a harbour, and is 300 miles north of Malacca. E. Long. 100° 5'. N. Lat. 7° 5'.
