a town of Great Poland, and capital of a palatinate of the same name, with a fortified castle, where they keep state prisoners. The houses are built of wood, and there is a Jesuit's college. It is seated in a morass covered with water, which proceeds from the river Rava, with which it is surrounded. It is 45 miles south of Blosko, and 50 south west of Warsaw. The palatinate is bounded on the north by that of Blosko, on the east by that of Mazovia, on the south by that of Sandomer, and on the west by that of Lencieza.
