is a town of France situated on the river Saude, in the territory of Bhafois, containing 7000 inhabitants, and long famous for its woollen manufacture. It is said to be a very ancient place; and the inhabitants pretend that Caesar built a tower here, of which there are still some considerable remains. They have a manufacture of serge and cloth, which is used for the clothing of the troops.
