a town in Germany, in Silesia, and capital of a duchy of the same name. It is surrounded with strong walls and a moat, and one part of the houses are built with stone. The castle is also encompassed with deep ditches, and the greatest part of the inhabitants are employed in a woollen manufacture. In 1799 a Protestant church was allowed to be built here.
