or ANAXUS, in Ancient Geography, a river in the territory of Venice, (Pliny); now the Piave, which rising from the mountains of Tyrol, not far from the borders of Carinthia, runs from north to south, through the territories of Cadorna, Belluno, Feltre, and, after running from west to east, through Trevigl, falls into the Adriatic, 13 miles to the southeast of Venice.
