MICHAEL ANTHONY, a celebrated geographer, born at Paris July 18, 1633. He traveled into several countries; and then applied himself to the revisal of Ferrarius's Geographical Dictionary, which he enlarged by one half. He wrote, 1. Notes to Papirus Masso's description of the Rivers of France. 2. A Geographical and Historical Dictionary. 3. Christian Geography, or an Account of the Archbishopries and Bishoprics of the whole world; and made several maps. He died at Paris, May 29, 1700.
