a sea-port town in the east riding of Yorkshire in England. It is seated on a creek of the sea near Flamborough-head, having a commodious quay for ships to take in their lading. It has a safe harbour, and contained 3731 inhabitants in 1811. It is more generally known by the name of Burlington, as it gave title to an earl of that name, though the earldom is now extinct. E.
