a province of South America, in the government of Santa Cruz de la Sierra. The chief riches consist of honey and wax; and the original inhabitants are very voluptuous, yet very warlike. They maintained bloody wars with the Spaniards till 1692; since which, some of them have become Christians. It is bounded by La Plata on the north-east, and by Chili on the west.
