a town of Bohemia, and capital of a circle of the same name. The principal church has the highest tower in Bohemia; and near this place the king of Prussia gained a victory over the Austrians in 1742. It is seated on the river Crudenka, in E. Long. 15° 33' N. Lat. 49° 50'.
