a town of Ireland, in the county of Antrim and province of Ulster, 73 miles from Dublin. It was burnt down about 50 years ago; but is now rebuilt in a neat and handsome manner, and has a large linen manufactory. It is seated on the river Laggan, in W. Long. 6° 20' N. Lat. 54° 31'. It gives title of earl to the family of Vaughan, and formerly returned two members to parliament.
