Ancient Geography, a people of the Regio Syrtica (so called from their living on the lotus); inhabiting between the two Syrtes, from the Cynthus to the Triton. The lotus was said to be a food so luscious, as to make strangers forget their native country. A sweet wine was expressed from it, which did not keep above ten days (Pliny).
