or Lycon, in Ancient Geography, so called from the worship of wolves. Lycopolita, the people; Lycopolitis, the district. There were two towns of this name, one in the Delta, or Lower Egypt, near the Mediterranean; the other in the Thebais, or Higher Egypt, in the northern part, to the west of the Nile.
