In common use, mesaraic is more frequently applied to the veins, and mesenteric to the arteries, of the mesentery. See **ANATOMY**.
**MÉSCHED**, a considerable town of Persia, and in the province of Chorassan; fortified with several towers, and famous for the magnificent sepulchre of Iman Risa, of the family of Ali, to whom the Persians pay great devotion. It is seated on a mountain near this town, on which are fine turquoise stones; in E. Long. 59° 25' N. Lat. 37° 0'.
