a river of Italy, in the kingdom of Naples. It rises in the Apennine mountains, in the Farther Principato; and passing by Conza, and Monte Verde, it afterwards separates the Capitanata from the Basilicata and the Terra-di-Bari, and then it falls into the gulf of Venice, near Salpe.
