(Antonine), a town of the Helvetii, situated between the Lacus Lausonius and Salodurum; called Petemissa by Peutinger. Thought now to be Biel (Claverius); the capital of a small territory in Switzerland.

PENEUS, (Strabo); a river running through the middle of Thessaly, from west to east, into the Sinus Thermaticus, between Olympus and Ossa, near Tempe of Thessaly, rising in Mount Pindus, (Ovid, Val. Flaccus).
