a genus of plants, belonging to the class syngenesia, and order polygamia segregata, of which the characters are the following; the calyx is imbricated with five or six leaves, the three interior of which are larger; the corolla is five-cleft; there is one oblong seed. One species only has been discovered, which is a native of New Zealand.
