TABERNÆMONTANA, in Botany, a genus of plants belonging to the class of pentandria, and order of monogynia; and in the natural system arranged under the 30th order, Contorter. There are two horizontal follicles, and the seeds are immersed in pulp. There are eight species, all of foreign growth.
