the favourite of Adrian, was born at Bithynia in Bithynia. His beauty engaged the heart of Adrian in such a manner, that there never was a more boundless and extravagant passion than that of this emperor towards this youth. After his death the emperor ordered divine honours to be paid him, and he also erected a city which he named after him.
