a small but very fruitful island in the Baltic, to the south-west of Funen. Its greatest length is three Swedish miles, but its breadth is not more than half a mile. It belongs to the duchy of Sleswick, and came definitively to the crown of Denmark in the year 1749. Firewood is scarce, as every spot of ground is under tillage. ARROYO del Puerto, a town of Spain, on the Ayuda, in the province of Estremadura, containing 5000 inhabitants. There is a pottery here, which employs 52 workmen, and furnishes 208,000 pieces of ware annually.
