a town of France, in the department of the Maine and Loire, with a castle, near the river Authion. It contains two parishes and about 6000 inhabitants.

BEAULY, a village of Scotland, in the county of Inverness, situated on the north side of the river Beauly, where it flows into the Moray Frith. There are here the remains of a Cisterian abbey, founded in the year 1230. The trade carried on in this place is inconsiderable, and the port is frequented by vessels of ninety tons burden. It is ten miles west of Inverness. Long. 4. 21. W. Lat. 57. 29. N. The river of this name flows into the Moray Frith at the above village. On this river there is a fine cascade called the Falls of Kilmorack.
