a town in the hundred of Lachford, in the county of Suffolk, 78 miles from London, on the river Little Ouse, by which there is a communication with the sea at Lynn, and much corn is forwarded. The inhabitants amounted in 1801 to 1148, in 1811 to 1360, and in 1821 to 1770.
