capital of the circle of Vorarlberg, in the Austrian province of Tyrol, stands on a hill at the south-east end of the lake of Constance. It has three churches, a Dominican monastery, and about 2200 inhabitants, occupied in silk and cotton manufactures, and in making various iron wares.
