a city of Italy, in the papal delegation of Forli. It stands on the river Savio, at the foot of a hill projecting from the Apennines. It contains a theological college, a cathedral, fourteen monasteries, and seven nunneries. In the college of the Minorites is a library of 15,000 volumes, rich in ancient works. The inhabitants amount to 14,670, who are employed in cultivating wine, hemp, flax, and silk, and in digging sulphur from a mine.
