a town of Hindustan, in the province of Allahabad, situated on the south side of the river Betwah, sixty-four miles N. by W. from Chatterpoor. In 1807 the districts of Cootra and Pauwar were restored by the British government to their legitimate owner, Rajah Bukht Singh, a Bundelcund chief. Long. 79. 28. E. Lat. 25. 45. N.
