a city of the delegation of Lodi, and government of Milan, in the Austrian kingdom of Venetian Lombardy. It is situated on the river Serio, and is the seat of a bishop, and, besides the cathedral, contains thirty-two churches, several palaces, 800 houses, and 8420 inhabitants. In a district between the marsh of More and the river Adda much flax is raised, and much linen cloth made in the city. It has also manufactures of silk and of hats.
