a town of Hindustan, in the province of Delhi, and district of Bareilly. Here was fought the decisive battle, in 1774, in which Sujah ud Dowlah, with the aid of the British forces, defeated the Rohillaks, who were nearly all exterminated by the cruelty of the conquerors, and annihilated as an independent state.
