Swan, in Astronomy, a constellation of the northern hemisphere, between Lyra and Cepheus. The stars in the constellation Cygnus, in Ptolemy's catalogue, are nineteen, in Tycho's eighteen, in Hevelius's forty-seven, and in the Britannic catalogue eighty-one.
