Isbrand, a learned professor of physic and anatomy at Utrecht, was born at Montfort, in Holland, in 1609, where he acquired great reputation by his lectures and his practice, and died at Utrecht in the year 1674. He wrote a treatise on the plague, and several works on anatomy and medicine, which were printed at Utrecht in 1685, folio.
