in Algebra, the same with index.

EXPOENT is also used in arithmetic, in the same sense as index or logarithm.

EXPOENTIAL Calculus, the method of differencing, or finding the fluxions of exponential quantities, and of summing up those differences, or finding their fluents.

EXPOENTIAL Curve is that the nature of which is defined or expressed by an exponential equation; as the curve denoted by $x^y = y$, or by $x^y = y$.

EXPOENTIAL Equation is one in which is contained an exponential quantity; as the equation $a^x = b$, or $x^y = ab$, and the like.

EXPOENTIAL Quantity is that the power of which is a variable quantity; as the expression $a^x$, or $x^y$. Exponential quantities are of several degrees and orders, according to the number of exponents or powers.
