a passage in the Eastern Seas, between the east coast of the island of Banca and the west coast of the island of Billiton, which connects the Java and the China seas. It is about fourteen leagues broad, and is divided in the middle by an island called Middle or Passage Island. There is also an island in the strait, called Gaspar Island, which is about five miles in extent.
