a town of the province of Namur, in the circle of that name. It is situated on the river Orneau, and contains 1660 inhabitants, who are employed mostly in the iron manufacture. It is remarkable for the battle fought near it in 1578, when the Austrians were defeated by the Spanish army under the command of Don Juan of Austria.
