a city of Hungary, in the circle of the Hither Theiss. It is strongly fortified, and is the seat of a bishop, and of the several civil and military boards of the circle. There is a Catholic ecclesiastical seminary, with ten professors, and several religious houses for both males and females. It contains 1200 houses, with 6768 inhabitants. Several natural warm springs in the city are visited by patients.
