town, or rather a parish, in the hundred of North Bradford, in the county of Salop, on the river Terne, 135 miles from London. It is only remarkable as the birth-place and residence of the late Bishop of Calcutta, Heber. The inhabitants amounted in 1801 to 1386, in 1811 to 1499, in 1821 to 1795, and in 1831 to 1769.
