Matthew, one of the principal writers of the Centuries of Madgeburg, was born at Tippleswolde in Misnia in 1528. He taught theology with great reputation; but, owing to party feuds, met with many annoyances in the exercise of his ministry. He wrote several works, and died in 1564.
