a lofty range of mountains in Persia, province of Kurdistan, bounding the plain of Erzerum to the south-east. These mountains abound with springs, and give rise to numerous rivers; and they form the dividing ridge between the streams that flow into the Black Sea and those which flow east into the Euphrates.
