a city of the circle of Chrudim, in the Austrian kingdom of Bohemia. It stands on the river Lauzna, and contains 634 houses, with 4653 inhabitants, who are occupied in making muslins and other cotton goods, and in distilleries. There is a college with six professors, and a gymnasium or public classical school.
