or LIERRE, a city of the Netherlands, in the province of Antwerp, and arrondissement of Mechlin. It stands at the junction of two small streams, which, when united, form the river Neethe. It contains 10,500 inhabitants, who are industriously occupied in distilleries, breweries, oil-mills, salt-works, and in printing calicoes.
