in the South Pacific Ocean, was discovered in 1811, by some resolute adventurers from New Holland, who had penetrated into the Southern Ocean in prosecution of the seal fishery. It is eighteen miles in length from north to south, and about six in breadth. At the distance of eight leagues from the north point of this island are other smaller islands, called the Judge and his Clerks, and several others in a south direction, called the Bishop and his Clerks.
