or MOULD, a town of the county of Flint, in North Wales, in the hundred of its own name, 207 miles from London. It consists of one long and wide street, and has a market on Saturday. It is an ancient borough, and, in conjunction with Rhydallan, Overton, Caerwis, Caergwrley, St Asaph, and Holywell, returns one member to the House of Commons. Of late extensive cotton-works have been established at this place. The population amounted in 1801 to 4235, in 1811 to 5083, in 1821 to 6268, and in 1831 to 8086.
