a city of the Austrian province of Siebenbergen, the ancient Transylvania, and the capital of a Nagy-Karolli, a large town of the circle of Szathmar, in the province of Farther Theiss, in Hungary. It is situated on a fruitful spot, and has a splendid palace and gardens belonging to Count Karoli, a Catholic, a Calvinist, and a Unitarian church, a college of philosophy, and a Catholic gymnasium.
