Natore, a town of Bengal, in the district of Rau- Natuna Isle, jeshahy, advantageously situated on the northern bank of the Attri River. Mulberry trees abound in the surrounding country, and on them are reared numerous silk-worms. Between Nattore and Jaffiergungre there is a very extensive morass, supposed to be the old bed of the Ganges; and here, during the rainy season, a sheet of water extends as far as Ducca, which is nearly 100 miles, navigable by boats, and in which tract are seen the villages erected on artificial mounds and groves of trees projecting out of the water to the right and left.
