or Nehanud, a town of Persia, in the province of Irak, sixty miles south of Hamadan. It is celebrated for a battle fought there between the Saracens and Persians in the year 638, when the Sassanian dynasty was overthrown, and the Saracens established themselves on the throne of Persia.
