a town of Hindustan, in the province of Gujarat, and district of Broach, seven miles north from Surat. Long. 73° 1° E. Lat. 21° 18' N. It is also a small district, which was settled as a private estate on the peishwa, by the Mahrahta treaty of 1803, but was afterwards taken from him on account of his treacherous conduct.
