**OPOCARBASUM**, or **APOCALPASUM**, a gummy, resinous substance, which has a strong resemblance to liquid myrrh, and which in the time of Galen was mixed with myrrh. According to this writer, it was difficult to distinguish the one from the other except by their effects, the former being of a poisonous nature, and frequently producing lethargy.
